| The main issues that determined the design process are the topography of the site, existing green areas, built environment surrounding the site, the functions that will take place in the park and the visual connections with the city. The design of the park is conceived as a system compounded of backbone, zones and paths. The design of the monument is based on spatial effect, semantic components and the relationship with light and living being. With its components; greenery, soil and moving people inside, the monument represents a shield that defends and covers life and living beings; a private soldier who sacrifies himself against the dangers outside. The monunent is designed as a fragmented structure. It’s exposed to the rain and the wind. At nights, it’s perceived as it’s composed of light and this helps to reflect it’s symbolic character. | |||||||||||||
